Let's talk...about the heat. Summer hit and the sun is not holding back, even if it is almost September. Every weekend, I fell like I am melting as soon as I leave my apartment (my full time job provides ample amount of Air conditioning that I sometimes wear a blanket at my desk). As I've lived in New York for 5 years, I've learned a thing or two about how to survive the sweaty train stations, living with no AC, and activities at an affordable in a non sticky way. SO, below are my top suggestions on where to go in order to survive the HEAT and places that won't break your bank.
1. CHECK OUT A MUSEUM
My two favorites I have already written about. Of course I am talking about The Whitney and The MET. If you're looking to cool down all day chose The MET, if you are only looking for a couple hours chose The Whitney.
2. IF YOU CAN'T BEAT THE HEAT...
Not only has this turned into a mecca-mall, it is the only subway station with air conditioning. Stores include Kate Spade, H&M, and of course a giant Apple store.
Oculus is also connected to Brookfield Place (in Battery Park), a mall that has many more stores and good places to eat. It's a great place to bring out of towners too!
