MOTHER'S DAY IN BOSTON
Oh, I'm shipping off to Boston ohoohooooo...I had to ;)
Born and raised in Boston I love coming home for weekend trips, and little getaways from New York. Mother's Day was no exception!
After years of traveling back and forth from New York to Boston, I have out grown the bus system (Megabus or Bolt). Now I take Amtrak almost every time. If you book about a month in advance you can find tickets for about $50 each way, and the points system is worth it as eventually you'll receive a free round trip.
Arriving in Boston late Friday night I got up early Saturday to run around to meet friends and accomplish errands. Leaving Sunday to spend time with my Momma.
Have I mentioned before that Open Table is amazing?!? I typed into Google "Mother's Day Brunch Boston" and I found a wide selection to chose from. My mom and I settled on The Beehive restaurant in South Boston, after reading all the great reviews on Yelp.
I have to give myself props because I made a great decision. There was a $45 pre-fixed menu for Mother's Day that included 1 appetizer, and entrée. However unlike other pre-fix menus there was a wide selection of items to choose from. I decided on the the Blueberry Rhubarb Coffee Cake, and a the Goat Cheese Quiche. I highly recommend both.
Live jazz band on Sundays, great drink selection, and the decorations all threw my attention in multiple directions. Overall, definitely go if you're looking for an entertaining Brunch in the heart of Boston.
