If you follow me on Instagram you maybe know that my boyfriend and I like to explore abandoned places across the East Coast from time to time. SO naturally we want to explore places in Brooklyn (where we currently live).
We had known about the Brooklyn Army Terminal for awhile but were always turned away from exploring it as it's heavily guarded. Better safe than sorry.
For that reason we never really took the time to think about exploring the Brooklyn Army Terminal. UNTIL, I received the free Time Out New York on a Wednesday morning (they stand in the subway and hand them out every Wednesday). Lucky to my surprise I found that the Brooklyn Army Terminal was going to be open to the public during the Open House Weekend.
For those that don't live in New York, the Open House happens once a year and is an opportunity for the public to explore private buildings that are typically closed to the public. AND the entry is Free!
If you don't want to wait another year to go to the Brooklyn Army Terminal, check out this website that offers 2 hour walking tours through the building. AND that means you won't have a run in with handcuffs.
