March and April, the two months when slowly but surely we start to see that affects of Spring. Lucky for you, Washington, DC is in full bloom a bit early than the other states.
First suggestion, if you are embarking on this trip is research when the blossom's are actually going to bloom (the exact days changes per year). In 2015 I chose to go the last week in March, and lucky for me I chose correctly. I'm telling you to research so you don't make the worst mistake in going to DC hoping to see flowers and instead you see bare trees.
Walk along the side of the Potomac River toward the Lincoln Memorial to see all the Cherry Blossoms. Warning: Patience is a VIRTUE during this trip, there will be a lot of people in DC at this time. Deep breaths, shove a little, and you'll be all set!
